The Firm

JH Designs is a small residential design firm based in Prospect, KY.  Since it’s founding, the firm has focused on traditional architecture and the creating of new homes, additions and remodels. JH Designs has established a design approach that is characterized by its attention to detail, its creativeness in the design process, and commitment to providing excellent service.

A believer in the practice of “seamless” design, the firm strives to create an indistinguishable seam where new meets old. Whether working in new construction or creating an addition to an existing home; style, proportions, and appropriate materials are key to achieving a seamless design.  After a project is complete, the new addition or the remodeled section of a home should feel as though it was always there, and a new home should not only fit the needs of the client, but also fit the location and environment in which is constructed.

Owner, Jason Hoppe, earned his degree in architecture from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.  He began his career working with design/build architecture firm in Milwaukee where he learned first-hand about home construction while working in the field.  When not in the field, Jason was designing for clients, securing new client leads, and taking projects from concept through to the final coat of paint. In Chicago, Jason had the opportunity to design custom homes in the north shore area at a small residential architecture firm, Hackley & Associates, Architects. There he worked closely with clients designing new custom homes, historic home remodels, and additions.

Having relocated with his wife to the Louisville, KY area in January of 2010, Jason saw the opportunity to start his own firm and founded JH Designs. With over 12 years experience designing homes at both large and boutique residential architecture firms, Jason brings an unmatched level of skill to the creation custom design drawings and a deep understanding of residential architecture.
